I've stopped holding my breath for this.
For me, Sai'ke's Hackey Machines already does everything I wanted from a modular routing environment. You can ctrl+dbl click on tracks to open mpl's Wired Chain.
Between the two, I'm not sure if there's any need left for a native system, tbh. Sai'ke and mpl are also far more likely to implement specific requests than Cockos anyway.
I was excited enough about this feature to make this thread, but now I'm not sure its worth the devs' time. Who knows when it will happen or if they will even see these suggestions. One thing is fairly certain though: A native Reaper modular routing system will NOT look anything like Bitwig's. A slick interface like that? Yea right. When has that ever been a priority here? Not unless we can manage it ourselves.

tbh i do not know many other 'daws' just reason and reaper mainly-- i don't think reason can be matched for routing, modularlarity+ graphix- rewiring is ok_ish aside a few lacks and wants..
reaper/cockos would need to show some exemplary skill to make this 'happen' this year....who knows though- puff of smoke_ n_ b00m!! "$hit 'appens"
maybe a routing flaw becomes more apparent..dunno.. maybe it's not a flaw..but.. few do see this even = sighz...
i thought 1 of reapers selling points was it's routing strengths?- yet few actually grasp it well,or even use it enough to make better uses of the concept..dunno.

So, AFAICT all of these suggestions were ignored entirely? Or am I just being cynical?

"Ignored" would mean knowing that they definitely saw the thread. I would hope they did, but who knows?

I'm just struggling to even identify any changes since then. I assume there were some, but these suggestions all came from multiple threads and I can't see that they had any impact on development, whatsoever.
So naturally I'm a bit let down that not even the most obvious and widely criticized flaws were altered (right to left layout and navigation).

I agree - what we've got in the RCs right now doesn't seem notably different from what was previewed months ago.

*sometimes I just don't get the devs at all*

Obviously this has been mentioned before, but I also think the Track Wiring view would be much more useful if it also had a wiring view for the plugins within tracks. At the moment the routing between the plugins within a single track is as confusing to manage as before.
And of course it should also show parameter modulations...Oh, well.

In a complex Midi and audio Routing situation with multiple audio channels per track and using multiple Midi Ports and Buses handled by the Reaper Routing features, this very soon will become insane...
Re Parameter modulation, same can be originated by Automation envelopes, Track Midi, and The Reaper Control Path ("Learn"). Insane in a "physical" wiring picture, again.
IMHO the issue of routing is much too complex for decently trying to "humanize" the interface.

Maybe different levels of perspective and filters and ability to make view presets from this criterias and then an easy way to navigate through this presets?

Yep this might be a way to go.
But it will provoke complains that the Wiring View is not intuitive to be used

I don't know. Existing one would probably be the first preset combining: level and filter

AFAICT, there's not a single intuitive aspect to be found in Wiring View currently...and yes, I'm being a bit too harsh...

For how to handle non-linear, complex node graphs, Sidefx Houdini is the best I've used.
The ability to package sections of node graph (and save as presets to drop into other projects) into folders is needed, IMHO.
