Killer,
Great catchy rocker. Guitars are great. Vocals are great and perfect for the tune. I bet this one goes over great live.

Your production, performance usually is 100% slick (in very positive way), but this time you have a real dirty solo. LIKE!

I WISH I played live! lol.. haven't done that in a few years - but would love to! Easy to play power rockers, booze... what could be better!

Thanks Mikael.. I wanted to do something a little different on this one, I'm happy you noticed. It's an octave distortion pedal (Hendrix). Not the best around, but free...

Great song Mark, ROCKS! Damn, I hear Axel in your voice a lot, and I mean that as a compliment because it really works in this context. Great classic rock man.

Yes, I was going to ask why you sound so much like Axel Rose.
This is not my style of music, in part because it seems like the guitars get muddy. At 18 seconds, there's just a sonic wall that comes in, and I don't find it very melodic. I was always a fan of stuff like Social Distortion or Weezer where they managed to take that distorted wall of noise, yet restrict it, force it to follow a clear and somewhat narrow melodic path so it does not swallow up the other stuff going on.
I mean, I know a lot of very popular bands do well with this wall of noise approach, so some people must dig it, so maybe my criticism boils down to this not being my cup of tea.

Thanks guys!
You know, I might have gotten one (maybe two?) comparisons to Axel here on past songs, but you have to believe me when I say I'm not going for that. At least not consciously. In fact, until you guys said something here - it never occurred to me. But yes, after listening again with this in mind, I can definitely hear it. I'm a fan of GnR - so I will take that comparison! When it all boils down to it, I'm a guitar player trying to be a singer. A means to an end. I've had one too many years of trying to write the perfect instrumental. Vocals just add so much more to a song, in so many ways...
@Ken: Regarding the guitars - I understand what you're saying. I'm not totally happy when the tone of these guitars either. I think what's making it more difficult to get something that works well is the fact that there's a lot of strumming full chords as opposed to just two string power-chords. The bands you mentioned do indeed do a good job of presenting guitars in such a way as to not interfere with other things going on. Probably a combination of tone and arrangement. I think Green Day is another band that fits that category. I heard in my head what i wanted for these guitars - but wasn't able to find it with the ampsims (mostly free) I typically use. I'll probably revisit this before pressing this song on the next CD. Thanks for your input.

This one totally kicks ass. It has kind of an 80s rock god vibe to it. Reminds me of going to the bars and getting some good old fashioned straight up rock and roll. Great playing, nice groove. Killer vocals. Good shit!

Digging the chord progressions. Maybe slightly Van Halen-ish? Vocals are nice and fitting, too. Also, like how it ends.

Thanks for listening and your comments! I like the ending too, esp the little lick. I added that at the last moment, totally impromptu. A little dangerous.. but I'm a firm believer in your gut is right most the time!
