Default cant pan left/right with scarlett 2i2 , sm58 and reaper

Hi,
I am using sm58 mic and scarlett 2i2 to record vocal , in reaper. It seems like , i cant pan them either left or right (Unlike i did with the usb mics ) for back vocals ....might be a noob question as i am still new to this
but i was under the assumption, we could flexibly change it how much we want to pan on a audio....I am just using standard sterio headphone for this.

I have checked the following
1) master fader set as sterio
2) output 1 and 2 , selected respectively at preference

Thanks,

OK....for starters let's clarify exactly what you are trying to pan.

The mic signal during monitoring of the recording?
Or the audio after it is recorded?

Hi,
sorry for the confusion ....I want to pan the audio after its recorded ..for mixing purposes.
Is it still possible to pan the direct monitor while its recording ..i guess no ?

Thanks

Yeah....I think this interface is mono only for direct monitoring which is why I asked.
But after recording should be no problem to pan audio.. (or even during recording if using the DAW monitoring)

Could you confirm that your audio system is playing Stereo outside of Reaper?
If not sure, play this audio in a browser or using a media player and see if the panning is correct.

Then if that tests OK, try to import this same audio to a new Reaper project and see if you hear the panning correctly.
