Default multitrack multivideo possible ?

I'm totally new in videoland.
is it possible to have multiple video screens open in Reaper.
I want to play with multiple video snippets simultaneously, just like you do with audio.
Like you have multiple picture in picture open maybe ?
or is there an alternative ?

You can definitely do that. A good place to start is Kenny's videos:

https://www.reaper.fm/videos.php

It takes a while to get the hang of it, but once you get the basics down it's pretty easy.

For a simple Picture in Pitcure, you drag the two videos onto two tracks in Reaper, one track for each video. One video will be visible and one will not (basically think of it as one is hiding behind the other).

Which one is visible (higher or lower numbered track) is configurable in the project settings. (NOT a global setting... it's at the project level)

(File/Project Settings/Video Tab/Video item visibility)

Then all you do is to shrink the visible one so that you see the one behind it also.

Do that by adding a Video processor FX to the visible track called "Image Overlay". Reduce the zoom and see the visible video shrink and reveal the hidden video behind it.
