Default Strange behaviour when opening Reaper

Posting here because the answer is probably blindingly obvious; but I just can't get it.
Nothing serious; just mildly annoying...
So I work on project 'A' in TCP mode and save it. Later I open it from the Reaper icon in the taskbar. As it was the last project, 'A' opens but it's in mixer mode and I have to switch back to TCP.
I then open project 'B' and from the file menu go 'recent projects' and open 'A' from there - no probs; it opens in TCP mode.
I have tried saving again in TCP mode, but it still opens in mixer mode from the taskbar icon.
Any ideas chaps?

Do you perhaps have something assigned as global startup action under Extensions > Startup Actions (part of SWS Extensions) which might be loading, for instance, a different Screenset/Layout when launching Reaper?

And maybe just for testing purposes: is the behavior also the same when opening the .RPP project file directly from a file explorer (Windows file explorer, macOS Finder, etc.)?

Thanks Solger
Yep, behavior is the same when opening from file, and there's nothing ticked under the extensions>startup
EDIT: I have shortcuts F1 for TCP and F4 for mixer view.
