Default ADLPlug freezes meter readouts

This is odd, and I don't think I've ever seen it happen with any other VSTs.

If I have the GUI open (in either ADLplug or OPNplug), whenever I play a note, the meters on the mixer and track control panel freeze until I release the note.

I'm using the latest Win64 binary from here.

Is this a thing? I've used a lot of VSTs in Reaper and I don't recall anything like this before. And there are no hardware acceleration options to tweak so I'm not really sure what to try.

Since it is coming from GitHub, have you tried seeing if anyone involved with it on there can help?

Why not use DEXED: https://asb2m10.github.io/dexed/ ?

Dexed is great, but in this case I specifically want the Adlib sounds from old DOS games (edit: just noticed it specifically mentions an OPL3 mode, so yep, I'll give that a go). There are a few other options I can try, but this one really would be my favourite if not for this weird issue. And it's a weird issue I can work around, but it's just such an extreme one that it makes me worry about overall stability.

But yeah, that's a good point; Github's probably a more useful place to ask. I don't have an account there but I'm sure that can be remedied. I'll see if there's a forum; maybe someone's asked about it already. I can't imagine I'm the first or only person to try it in Reaper.

On that page's Github, look under "issues". That's basically "the forum" for a given piece of software on Github.

I didn't notice anyone else reporting your issue.

Anyway as I just mentioned on your other thread, I don't have this issue with those plugins. So I think it's something specific to your computer (GPU driver, as a stab-in-the-dark guess).
