Yes, it comes through (see gif)

I've been struggling for 1 hour and still have not understood how to proceed ?

Should I connect the midi out of the audio interface to it's midi in ?

Can you connect the MIDI output of the Neon to the input of the Scarlett, then choose the Scarlett's input as the record input, and the Neon output as the MIDI output of the track that will send the sysex...

ah, it's OK thanks.
So, MIDI output of the Neon connected to the input of the Scarlett, Scarlett's input as the record input, and the Neon output as the MIDI output of the track that will send the sysex...
result :
When I click notes inside a midi clip in the track where the neon output is, notes are received in reacontrolmidi log in the track where scarlett is, so there should be no wiring issue.
When I send a sysex message from reacontrolmidi in Neon track, sysex are not received by reacontrolmidi in scarlettt track.

Do you have another MIDI device you can try testing with? Or a few, preferably?
(I only have a couple here but they all work...)

Justin,
I tried with this 2 synths with midi out plugged in scarlett midi in
Reaper track record set to scarlet midi All
Novation Bassation : dump OK
Roland Juno Alpha 1 : dump OK
In order to be sure, I plugged the same midi out wire used for the 2 trials above from the Nord Lead to scarlett : dump NOK (scarlett midi activity led blinks so midi messages are transmitted from the NL) !!!
There should be something special with the Nord Lead sysex that Reaper won't recognize (format, transfert speed...) ?

There are gremlins in the Nord.

There's nothing special in NL's sysex. The only rule for a sysex message is that it starts with F0 and ends with F7, in between can be practically anything. Transfer speed is decided by the synth itself, there's nothing Reaper can do about that.

Sorry when I last said “MIDI devices” I meant MIDI interfaces... eg a different USB MIDI adapter

Justin, I installed Snoize midi monitor on OSX.
I can see NL notes, CC, and the preset and bulk dumped sysex.
I noticed that in Snoize, the 2 midi ports of the ESI midi interface are labelled (1 & 2), In reaper there are labelled ID 0 & 1.
Don't konw if this is important.

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but I think I've found a similar (possibly exactly the same) bug and gotten a little further in the troubleshooting. Here's my analysis: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread....02#post2480402
