Default Crashing on Startup help

Hi Hopefully someone knows better than me. I've seen previous threads where this shows a particular plugin but as far as I can tell mine isn't a plugin? I don't know

If anyone knows how to fix this I would be most grateful as I'm in the middle of a mix and don't really want to have to go back to an auto saved version if possible.

What did you do, before the crash happened? And do you mean by startup the startup of Reaper in general or the loading of a project?

You could try to open the project using the Open project-dialog, which has the checkbox for "Open with FX offline (recovery mode)" and see, if that changes a thing.

If it loads, it's more likely a faulty plugin, if it doesn't, the problem probably lies somewhere else.

No and it shouldn't, as this could cause the same problem, as if you had loaded it with fx enables in the first place.

Turn them on one by one and see, if Reaper crashes again at some point.
If it does, you know the fx, which probably causes the problem.

Default Follow up...

I booted up several times with Fx off and it did load Reaper...but of course that makes for a very labor intensive way of working on songs....
The REAL solution came (for me) by powering down completely and rebooting the Dell Laptop. I have no idea what fouled up...but all is good now..so I am back to working on my songs.
Thank you for your help!!!
