Default Accelerate time selection without grid distortion

I have a section of a tune (already recorded) that I would like to move at a faster tempo. When I adjust the tempo envelope, the rest of the piece (outside of the section that I want to alter) falls out of alignment with the grid and the midi tracks. Is there a way to isolate a section of the piece, say eight measures, and alter the tempo of just those measures? It's fine if I the sound quality of the material I recorded in that section is poor. I can rerecord that section. I just need my grid to stay aligned, for that section and for the rest of the piece.

Insert tempo markers to the start and end of that faster section. Set the tempos how you want them, first faster and 2nd bringing it back to normal.

Kenny Gioias video about Tempo Mapping in REAPER.
