Default Janne Hybrid Theme

This is my personal theme inspired by the default v4 theme(it uses defult toolbars and tranport buttons).
V 1.0.8:

-added TCP minimal layout

Link: https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/1147/Ja...ReaperThemeZip

V 1.0.7:

-added Big meter layout for tcp and mcp
-better selected track state
-better visibility for sendlist meter text

Link: https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/1113/Ja...ReaperThemeZip

New in 1.02:

-Added Master TCP
-Added input fx button (it appears bellow the fader in mixer when track is record armed- see the screenshot for location)

Decided to upload it if anyone is interested.

Regards J

Very clear and uncluttered interface, I like it!

Some feedback: The fx name font is very small.. changing the walter font 2 size to 10 seemed to do it for me!

Another one: The record monitor colors are reversed, at least in my opinion.

The font size issue is mac-pc conversion (for the themes made on mac). I still didnt found a solution other than changing the font size later on PC as you did.

Monitor: oops Ill switch the colors. Thanks for reporting.

V 1.0.1 is in stash:

https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/1107/Ja...ReaperThemeZip

Monitor buttons colors now correct.

PC users please check if the FX font is now big enough.

This is fantastic, thank you very much, Janne83

FX fonts are good here (v101, Win7).

Thanks, I like this theme a lot especially while editing. The one issue I have is that there is no big meter layout, or any layout actually, for the master track in the TCP. Could someone possibly transplant the big meter layout from the default theme into this one? I really hate to beg but I have no experience at all with WALTER :/

I will add this for the next update. I personally never use the TCP Master so I didnt finish it.

Also the next update will add the input fx button to the mixer.

I like the 2D of your new theme, Janne. It makes everything pops right out in clear view.

May I ask, will there eventually be additional MCP layouts, like the default theme offers (I have "Sidebar" in mind...)

Thank for sharing your talent!

Great theme, Janne! Do you have any plans for different toolbar icons?

Initially I wanted this theme to work with the default toolbars.

Ill have to think about it.(It really depends on my free time availability). Designing all the toolbar icons toolbars is very time consuming.

I think the default toolbar fits adequately? I wouldn't see what more could be done to match it. At best it would be only different, no?

Yep. I also find the default ones adequate and they are quite numerous for diffferent actions.

The only option that would be is to make the symbols different and the background same as it is.

I wasn't trying to give you more work. It's just that I really liked the style / clean look of your tracks, and my mind saw icons in the same style, so I wondered what was forthcoming. No worries. You did a really nice job with it.

No prob at all. I welcome any suggestions or requests, however I can do them in my free time capacity.

firstly I have to add a few layouts, then we will see what we can do with the toolbars (at least the main toolbar icons)

A couple of minor things I noticed: the transport bpm, timesig, rate and selection fields aren't centered vertically. Also you should set the different tcp vertical sizes with tcp_heights. For example in the current minimum vertical size the elements aren't centered (tcp_heights x 23 x x seems to do it).

I'm currently creating some layouts for this nice theme (narrow mixer (maybe with vertical indent), simple tcp, simple master). I'll hand you the code when I'm done if you like.

EDIT: something funny going on with the envcp:

Unfortunatelly i dont see any vertical non-alignment here nor the transport (which is actually the default v 4 theme code small transport, nor the TCP)

Can you post a screen maybe?

I unintentionally deleted the code for envelopes. Ill readd it in the nxet update.

If you want just post the code for your layout and I can add them. Thanks

Thanks...very nice!

Is there a way to switch the pan control to a knob independent of the theme? I presume not.

Thanks again!

Ah, never mind...I see you are considering some layouts and haven't had time to get there yet. Panning knobs would be a nice touch if time permits.

Thanks so much for what you have already done!

Thanks to all and also as Solar already mentioned happy 2013 to all.

just to reveal my plans for this theme(in a priority fashion):

1.I intend to add more layouts-small,sidebar and with knobs
2. transport so it will be matched with other elements
3. if time will allow me i will change the toolbar buttons

Very nice, very clean !

What i miss is the mcp/tcp recmode button.

It would be also nice, if the io-button can show its send/return status.

I will ad the io button indicators.

For the recmode you can right click the record button and you get the same menu.

I was planing to add a recinput field that will appear when recor armed in the mcp. In tcp recinput is already present.

Finally your new theme. Love it.
Very clean, indeed, and I love the track-view, very ProToolish
Awesome TCP.

Do you think there will be a smaller-mixer-view at the next versions possible?

edit: maybe you don't forget it, just want to say, that the envelope-tcp is still in the standard-theme

I've started working on a narrow mcp layout and here's what I have so far:

The empty space below the IO and FX buttons is for the io indicators and fx bypass indicator, but I'm still trying to figure out how to represent them. Maybe something like this:

Very nice layout. The only thing that bothers me is the track idx position. I breaks the layout cnsistency, since there is a hole without a button. I would sacrifice a tad of vertical space and leave the idx bellow the name to keep consisteny. I like the fx bypass and io indicators. I think you should try to catch the same color as the buttons are or a more contrasty dark color like the meter background is.

I have already a preliminary workable thin layout with smaller knobs in the work.
We can include both of them.

Also there is the minimum mcp height value to be considered. We would need to include some resizing code to overcome this, otherwise the meter will be ver short when the mixer is minimized.

This is my thin version with regular buttons:

I really want to keep the same height and resizing behaviour as all other layouts.

And with smaller buttons:

Looks great. I actually give it a try in a mix project. The highlight of the MPC and the TCP units is not that good, maybe you can darken them a little bit, that the highlight highlights more
