Default Take play rate envelope

Hello developers,

A play rate take envelope would be very useful for sound design. I know stretch markers can do the job. But take envelopes are much more easier to use. Envelopes are far easier to edit, copy, paste etc than stretch markers . Can you pls make this a reality? It would be a huge addition to reapers sound design capabilities 🙏

Very interesting idea.

I'd support this.

Yes, this would be very useful. Also, being able to write automation in real time for a Play Rate envelope and the Tempo envelope would be great too.

Now in the pre release cycle since there is importance given to takes with take markers, I kindly request developers to pls consider this. A take play rate envelope. This will be huge for sound designers. Please.

+1!! Ideally with a snap to semitone option and a semitone range option.

For now this seems the best workaround:

I remember I had some difficulties to get it to work how I need it so you might also check this thread out where I was proposed the afore mentioned solution and where I asked some questions about how to set it up: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=222808

The Xenakios: Pitch Bend Item... plugin does a much cleaner job of this in my opinion.

It would have to redraw the take length and audio peaks and also have some smart behaviour when you move your mouse so it doesn't volt off screen at too low a rate dragging your view with it.

Yes I think when you move an envelope point it should stay where it was placed and just the content of the item should move and depending on preference move out of the visible borders of the item (when lowering playrate of course) or extend the item boundaries to fit the longer content.

Bump again.

Another advantage of a play rate envelope (as opposed to stretch markers) would be the possibility to create curved envelopes.

I suppose parameter modulation of ReaPitch does exactly this.

It's not possible, one of the things I'm heavily missing too.

Big +1 for varispeed take envelope, one of the most useful things for sound design.

Yep. ReaTune does not have DAW parameters. Weird.

Will look up and edit. Its best solution frankly.

EDIT:
