Default media browser and bpm/key
Hi!

Which tags are bpm and key in the files? I use the program Mp3tag to set BPM and INITIALKEY but the values don't show up in Reaper.

I've tried to set them for MP3 and WAY. But that didn't work for me.

AFAIK, Reaper's Media Browser is not capable of showing BPM and Key tags in mp3's and wavs.
A major drawback imho.

I have requested this way back in time but to no result.

Try setting the explorer to 'details'= you can set custom tags there also.
BPM and sample lengths should be displayed-there will either be a tagged bpm,or a rate offset value from your current project bpm( if project bpm is@ 120-media file will show +/- difference of rate from that.)
^This is an easy way to check for media tempo-set a loop and look at the difference from project tempo<.

How do you set ME to "details" ?
Cannot find that option in ME.

Maybe only available in Reaper - windows ..(?)

Reaper 5.50repre3 - 64bit OSX.
OSX 10.12.6

Bri1 might probably be talking about the Media Explorer Right-Click Option 'Use Windows Explorer for browsing', where it's possible to display additional tag columns.
Only available in the Windows version.

In general, some additional tag columns should be available inside (Media Explorer) database folders, though ...

Ah, OK.
These tag columns are only available inside database folders. Tag columns in ordinary Shortcut folders (like '<Project Directory>', etc.) are limited
