Default reasamplOmatic5000 question

i am not familiar with this plugin so bear with me. Is to possible to import multiple files which are in the correct pitch order and to somehow automatically assign them to the correct keyboard notes if the first note is assigned - i hope this makes sense!

No, a single ReaSamplomatic instance does not support pitch mapping multiple files.

Thanks
Is there anything else which could do this?

Many 3rd party sampler instruments can do it. There are not many free ones available, though. The best bet is probably Tx16wx :

There's a way to assign your keys to a separate sample but it is very tedious and each sample requires its own track and VST. If you want to know more tell me and I'll try to explain.

You do not have to put all individual ReaSamplomatic plugin instances on separate tracks, they all can be inserted one by one on the same track.

Do you have to have a different engine for each sample? And MIDI mapping?

Well, you can have one instance of ReaSamlomatic for more samples as velocity mapping.
But for note keyranges mapping you have to use another instance of ReaSamplomatic for every other keyrange.

It means for Drumkit of acoustic kick and snare you need 2 instances of ReaSamplomatic:
1 instance for Kick at key #36 (but it can have e.g. 5 samples of different velocity to switch)
1 instance for Snare at key #38 (but it can have e.g. 10 samples of different velocity to switch)

In short - ReaSamplomatic supports velocity layers/map but does not support keyranges/map.

EDIT:

Late reply here but I used the Kenny video method as above
I put together a bunch of samples, set up a kit and then saved it as a chain and now have 3 separate kits/chains for different uses.

I believe you can set up one chain and swap specific samples but I preferred to have separate chains.

Default Grace vst - by one small clue

Is there a way of automatically putting pitch samples to keyboard positions in Grace by any chance?

I don't agree, it's not tedious, I find its edition simpler than the others, you just have to understand the logic and not try to reproduce kontakt or any other sample player on the market. Each key must have its instance in the FX chain, an instance is very light and its multiplication will not weigh more than a single instance of kontakt with a packed bank. There can be several samples per instance to create velocity layers. The Reasamplomatic window is eloquent enough for classic editing.
and by the way the Tx16wx is very annoying to edit

Could someone write an action to accomplish this without all this fuss and bother - I'm sure its do-able?

Default slicing and automap function lacking

samplomatic must have slicing function builtin to make beats easier if they want to go ahead in beat making segment and also have right automap features without using mpl script ,its a shame mpl script has done lots easier rather native function .common reaper yu are remembered for customizing everything .

The slicing you can do it directly in an item and after deciding that each new item (slice) is opened in reasamplomatic. Once again, we must stop trying to make reasamplomatic work like kontakt, just as we must not want to Reaper like Cubase.
