Default Can't burn to CD on Mac w/Reaper

Hello all,

I've posted two places w/this issue, I usually don't do that, but I thought this issue may be might be Mac-specific.
Posting to save time are here:
http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=69229
AND here:
http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=69233

In a nutshell, after "Rendering to Audio CD" the "Burn CD" button can be pushed, but has no effect on burning. I've tried this on the iMac Drive and an external Lacie Drive.
(See screenshot . . . this is set for the One Track Mode per instruction for "RosesBloom" song.)

Reading in the "User Manual" and "Reaper Power" that WAV Files are to be used, I used the Batch Converter in Reaper to change the "RosesBloom" Track supplied w/the "Home Recording for Beginners" book from ogg to WAV Files.

I saved to my desktop the Folder to avoid an error in opening the wrong Project File and deleted all extraneous ogg files and left only the WAV files. The Project File opened like a charm.

Again, I could not use the "Burn CD" button :'-(

It's been suggested that I use a "cd burner utility" and I have made an AIFF File and put it to iTunes and then to CD but that is all a workaround . . . especially if I want to mix 4 or 5 tunes to a CD.

Can someone please confirm if the Burn CD button does or does not operate on a Mac computer. I am using WAV files as recommended and you can check my settings in the screenshot.

Loving Reaper, just stuck in this one spot as far as lessons for now.

Thank you all and Happy Thanksgiving!

Thx Adam,

What kind of Media Files have you used when using the "Burn CD" button.
AIFF, ogg, WAV

"I ask this, so I can narrow things down and try to find the missing setting and not concentrate on converting ogg and AIFF Files to WAV."
-------
BTY - the EasyWMA app looks cool . . . I downloaded it and will give it a try :-)

And thanks for confirming that the Burn CD feature works w/Mac. For now, I'll concentrate on putting multiple songs on one Project File and mixing them so they sound like they all belong on the same CD! Then I'll make one large AIFF File or separate ones, I haven't gotten that far yet. Have to give up the ghost on this one.
---
UPDATE:
Just made a 5 sec Vocal Wave File, in case the actual recording should be done in WAV, as opposed to converting files.
Still no luck :'-(
I end up with a:
WAV Recording.cue
and
WAV Recording.bin
file, but can not burn to CD.

Yeah the CD burning in reaper is broken. At least for me on my macbook pro - it can render the cue / bin but the burn to cd button is not responsive.

Heres a really easy solution. Render the files, but don't burn it in reaper. Burn it with the built in drutil terminal app in mac osx (I did it in mountain lion)

http://shankerbalan.net/?p=544

Open a command line. ie. open the "terminal" app
and type the following command where foo.cue is the name of your cue file. The bin file must be in the same directory I think.

drutil burn -noverify -eject foo.cue

I hope this helps. I searched for ages to find a solution amongst so many that did not work for me.

Cheers.

Default Can't burn CD with Reaper OSX

I am having the exact same problem with that "Burn CD" button.
I have made a project of 12 songs ( over the past year). And now that I want to burn the project to a CD...... on my iMac OSX Mountain Lion, Reaper 4.32/64 ..... NOTHING.
Who would have thought that a great DAW like Reaper would be unable to finish the project !!!
Very disappointing to have to do a work-around by using another product when the User Manual clearly indicates Reaper can do it.

Default Try using the 32 bit version of Reaper.

Hi guys,

I ran into this problem today on my mac pro running 10.9.5.
Reaper64 was unwilling to burn my project but as soon as I opened it in the 32 bit version it was no problem.

Hope this helps someone.
