Default Rendering to mp3

Help! I am in the middle of a 4 song demo. Three songs have gone pretty good. I’m on the last song. I Render to mp3 then check my mix. On this song, no matter what do, the mp3 sounds like the vocals are sitting way back in the mix and accoustic is much louder then what I’m here in reaper. The other songs were fine on bouncing. It’s like no matter what changes I make, it doesn’t effect the mp3 bounce! Have I changed a setting by accident??

Have you tried doing a render to wav to see if the same thing happens?
Also, what bitrate MP3 are you rendering to?

Default Mp3

I have rendered to waves. 360 on the mp3. It’s like nothing I hear in reaper is being bounced. Mostly with the vocal. I tuned to vocal, renderedand froze the track.. but I did the same thing with the other three. I’m lost... no way I can mix a song when what I’m hearing is not bouncing down with the same levels!

Honestly have never once struck this issue.
So it does the same thing regardless of whether you render to wav or mp3 then?

I can't comment or help in respect to freezing tracks, never done that. If you have done it with others and they are fine, yet one goes berserk then it is fair to say it probably isn't that.

Are you rending with exactly (if you have any) plugins on the master bus?

Have you tried by-passing any FX on the offending track, getting the level where you want it and then rendering to see if it still does the same thing - just in case a plugin is causing issues you are not aware of?

Is there any automation lanes on the track that you have overlooked or hidden and forgotten about?

Did you possibly render to mono MP3?

If the left right vocals are out-of-phase, they will cancel in mono (just like a classic "vocal remover" effect). If that's the cause we should probably investigate why they are out-of-phase rather than just re-rendering in stereo.)

I believe Waves 360 is a plug-in bundle. The question was, Did you try making a regular uncompressed stereo WAV file (instead of, or in addition to, an MP3)?

could you post a screenshot of your render dialog for the problematic song?

I read it as (spelling aside) that he/she rendered to wav (waves) and MP3 360K. I'm probably wrong though...

When I first read it I was wondering what file format waves360 was, was sitting here thinking 'never heard of this one before' lol.
