Default The Big Blue Compressor

Thinking of purchasing "The Big Blue Compressor"
Does anybody use this VST and have any remarks?
Yes I can make my own mind up just thought somebody may have
some experience with this they can share.
This came out around 2012 and still gets on the 10 best compressors this is
interesting enough.

Thanks

I gotta say, I never even heard of it before. Not many YouTube videos about it either, so idk how top 10 it is. But, I gotta say it does look pretty full featured in the stereo department, which is interesting.

I can't say much more than that about it though. I can say though that the fabfilter C2 is also very full featured, and in the sidechain department as well, with all the look ahead and stereo separation, mid-side, and knee control you could ever possibly want.

So, that's another option to consider. Sorry I don't have much experience with that one.

Well I got the demo of the Big Blue Compressor and tried it out.
What I was looking for was a VST Compressor to do what some hardware compressors
do i.e. "Glue" a mix together with a pleasing sound.
The Big Blue Compressor is an older work why is it still relevant I asked myself? that is why I advertised for comments....
Now I have a heap of VST's far too many. That said I had not found one to do the Buss duties in what I would call a toneful way that would install that magic fairy dust thingy.
On my song "AK 47" I used TBBC on the bass the vocals and a stereo version (select
mono or stereo on the face of the compressor)on the Buss.
The result is here "AK 47" https://soundcloud.com/steve-maitland-1
There was a very noticeable "Glue" factor when placed on the buss the vocal (not my strong point) and the bass a real pleasing controlled and toneful effect.
Paying for this today.

Hi Ivansc
Funny you should ask that I have the UAD version and also the UAD SSL.
I like many of my UAD plugins however that said the Big Blue Compressor
blew me out of the water ..... with the sound the control and the ease of use.
I have the Fab Filter pro C too.
You may have listened to my song AK 47 https://soundcloud.com/steve-maitland-1
if you haven't I reckon although I may have done a good job on the mix the Big Blue polished the whole lot off giving it a level and sheen with energy
just like a pro record.
I am seldom so enthusiastic with anything...
I was keen to hear a review before purchasing as the VST is well, older than most
getting the DEMO was a no brainer so I got it.
I am leaving paying for it until a month goes by as a new method of payment is going to be brought in where PayPal is not involved.
I really can not wait till I have another tune to use it on frankly!
So Happy
