Default How I can help: free Mastering during Covid-19 quarantines

Like many others around the world, I'm holed up in my studio. I know that there are folks out there making music during this time. Great! Make something awesome!

I would genuinely enjoy helping people make some beautiful music during this time. If you're in need of mastering, let's talk.

This might be crazy... I'm sincere... For right now, I'm willing to offer digital mastering for free. If this gets crazy or too much to handle, or if I feel like folks are taking advantage of this offer, I'll change my stance. But for now, it's on the table. I put this in the Collaboration forum to have folks hopefully understand my intention with this idea. Shoot me an email if you're curious or have questions.

Arguments can be made for this devaluing the mastering service. I get that. So many are out of work or will not be working, so I thought that I could do something to help those who are in that situation.

I want to help music get out there. Let's make this planet better!

Jeremy

Good for you, Jeremy. I don’t see it as devaluing at all. Very kind of you.

Thanks, but I think I'll hold out until you offer up the analog stuff.

To be more specific, I will offer digital mastering, as in please don't send me tape. I will still use hardware in the chain if warranted.

Thanks for the kind replies. I'm glad that this has been warmly welcomed.

Sounds like we might have some folks interested. I'm really glad!

I was able to help one gentleman with a rock track already. I thought that he had a great mix and the master was solid.

I'm here to help.
PM or email is fine with me.

Thank you sir.

I'm still getting folks sending tracks here and there and from all over the world. It's been fun to be able to help in this way. And I hope that it does help, truly.

I would jump on the offer, if I thought my music was on par for a pro master, which I dont think it is

However, it's still might kind of you for offering the time. I hope maybe someone with a bit more confidence in their work can take up your offer.

Hi Ricky,
Thanks for the kind words. You could look at this way: You don't have anything to lose.

If the mix doesn't hold up well, maybe that could a good lesson for you to improve. If it does hold up, it still may be a good lesson. Don't let that get in the way.

Make beautiful music and put it out there for the world to enjoy!

Jeremy

You're very welcome. I'm happy to help.
WAV Files at your original resolution and preferably at 32 bit.
Feel free to email me further.

I would prefer a finished stereo mix, rather than stem tracks. If you think that the stems are lacking in some way and would benefit from stem work and you've exhausted your resources, feel free to send me a message and we can have a conversation about that too. I'm happy to offer my opinions and suggestions about it.

I have done stem work in the past. It does sometimes change the balance of a mix, so that's always a consideration and I'd like to avoid disrupting your mojo in that way.

Hope to talk soon!

Jeremy

Thank you both for your kind words. I appreciate working with you two as well.

It's an honor to help folks; it's something that I realize is special.

Anyone else interested? If so, send me an email and we can get the conversation started.

I should add too... some people have concerns or have asked if their mixes are ready for mastering. Feel free to send an email and we can talk about that too. I don't mind doing a preliminary listen and then having a conversation, in case there are questions.

It's all about developing a relationship where parties can get on the same page.

Default I have a good idea

what jeremy did for me would benefit anyone doing self production
its a simple process and 'reletively painless'

Jeremy i think theres a simple process you could set up for people

Jeremy,

Even though I don't have need to take advantage of your generous offer at this time, I just wanted to say thank you for your generosity.

Thanks. I do have a process for paid work, which I've continued through the Covid-19 situation. This post was more an easy and limited "Reaper crowd" offering to help others. It seems that many have been without gigs and this is serving a good purpose in helping them get their music released during the quarantines.

Greg, Got it! I look forward to it.

If anyone else is interested, please reach out via email. I'm going to have to bring an end to the offer before too long. I'm very glad to be able to help folks. I can't save the world, but I can try help make it a little better of a place to live.

I will be closing this offer today. It's been two months, and I've talked with and worked with many fun and exciting people/groups. Thanks to all. I hope I've done a tiny bit to help.

I wish you best during this weird time and hope that you and yours stay safe.
