I'm running Reaper v7.16 on Windows 10, and the FaderPort is completely disabled in "MIDI Devices".
In order to restore the FaderPort and making it work correctly again with CSI, I have to do these steps in Reaper Preferences:

1. Remove "Control Surface Integrator" from the Control surfaces.
2. Add "PreSonus FaderPort" to the Control surfaces -> this shows the MIDI inputs/outputs error (so I think that the device is actually opened by CSI, even if it doesn't work).
3. Close and re-open Reaper (now the FaderPort is correctly recognized and the device comes alive).
5. Remove "PreSonus FaderPort" from the Control surfaces.
4. Add "Control Surface Integrator" again to the Control surfaces.

Now I can close and re-open Reaper and the device keeps working correctly with CSI until I shut down the PC (or unplug the device) again.

Is there a solution for this type of problem?
I'm not a coder, but maybe it has something to do with the FaderPort initialization code in CSI?

Thanks in advance for your help!
Giacomo
Do you by chance have the latest driver for the FP v1, might be a Windows driver issue. Just a thought if you haven't gone that route yet. Also, have you made sure you DON'T have it selected in the MIDI devices in Reaper/Settings/Audio/MIDI Devices....... shouldn't have FP Input or Control or output enabled(again if you haven't already gone through this). Hope this helps.

I haven't upgraded the firmware of the device, I read online that it could cause the motorized fader to stop working. Regarding the driver, on the PreSonus website they say: "There are no device drivers for the FaderPort Classic. It is a class compliant MIDI Controller with a motorized Fader. The device driver is controlled by the operating system (Microsoft standard MIDI interface driver for Windows)".

https://support.presonus.com/hc/en-u...king-correctly
https://support.presonus.com/hc/en-u...irmware-Update

Windows correctly recognizes the device and it actually works in Reaper with the workaround I described in the previous post.
The device is not selected in Preferences/Audio/MIDI devices, it has all inputs/outputs completely disabled. Thanks anyway for your help!

Default Code to go to the next step

Hi Guys,
I have 2 questions:
1. Does CSI now support FX containers? I didn't see anything in the log about this.

2. Is it possible to move to the next or previous step of a plugin parameter in VST3 format with one widget for next and another for previous?
If yes, what is the code please?
I am using the latest version of CSI 2.0.
Thanks.

FX containers sre on the to do list.

You can use Increase and Decrease with an encoder

https://github.com/GeoffAWaddington/...rease-decrease

As of now using 2 Widgets is also on the to do list.

Are track colours for SSL UF8 possiby on the to-do list? I was wondering if they are only available on the X-Touch or also on other surfaces?

hi everybody !

I cant see how this could be a CSI issue but im hoping someone here could help me out anyway with a solution ? Sorry and thanks

When i exit Reaper and CSI my control surfaces most times dont clear or zero . Meaning the faders stay , the display info stays, nothing clears or zeros on the surfaces. This just started not long ago. Any ideas whats causing that ? All the displays would always clear and faders would reset down when exiting reaper and CSI.

This forum is all i have for this kind of info so apologies if this is not a CSI issue

Default Problem with my .mst file

Hi,
I made a .mst for the Behringer FCB1010.
Everything works perfectly except the 2 expression pedals.
This is what I get in the Reaper console:
Pedal1:
Widget Fader1
Fader14Bit b0 1b 7b
FB_Fader14Bit b0 1b 7b
WidgetEnd

Pedal2:
Widget Fader2
Fader14Bit b0 07 7b
FB_Fader14Bit b0 07 7b
WidgetEnd

CSI doesn't seem to accept two pedals assigned to 2 different parameters at the same time and I don't know why.
The 2 pedals control the parameter assigned to pedal 2 while in my .zon file, I put a different parameter per pedal.

If I comment out the Fader2 code, neither of the 2 pedals works.

But if I code as follows, the 2 pedals control the parameter assigned to pedal 1.
Pedal1:
Widget Fader1
Fader14Bit b0 1b 7b
FB_Fader14Bit b0 1b 7b
//WidgetEnd

Pedal2:
Widget Fader2
Fader14Bit b0 07 7b
FB_Fader14Bit b0 07 7b
WidgetEnd
I've tried everything, I have no more ideas, please help.
Thanks.

Try replacing Fader14Bit with Fader7Bit:

Code:
Widget Fader1
Fader7Bit b0 1b 7b
WidgetEnd

Widget Fader2
Fader7Bit b0 07 7b
WidgetEnd
Also, there's probably no point in including a feedback definition, as there's no way for the feedback to be used (that I can tell).

Glad it worked You can remove the FB definitions where they serve no purpose (no indicator LEDs, motors etc) though they probably won't cause issues if you don't.

Cool this is working, great to have plugins button going. I seem to have a problem with the banking, it won't show a channel either on fader or on the diplay. It works with master.

Is it possible to use the ctrl, alt and shift keys (and possibly option) from the keyboard? In parallel with the controller of course??🤔🤔.

For example, in its simplest form for select tracks

I don't believe so. Unless there are some other clever programmers out there.

Default AutoFX Mapping

Hi All,

I'm in the process of diving back in to Reaper again and working with CSI and SSL UF8/ UF1 but am encountering problems with the Auto FX mapping. Everything seems to be installed correctly with the latest versions of everything but the AutoFX mapping does not generate a zones folder etc. when opening a plugin for the first time.

I cannot seem to get any activity from using it as per instructions.

Is there a way to do a completely fresh install of CSI ie. remove all files/ cache etc.?

Thanks in advance.

I don't have a UF8/UF1 but I can try and help with the rest.
Let's start from your last question of complete fresh install. You'd just have to go to your Reaper resource folder and delete the CSI folder(I'd just copy it to another place for cross-reference) and delete the "reaper_csurf_integrator.dylib". You can then start with a fresh instal.

Question for you, when you say you have installed the latest version, are referring to v3.2.3 that's the last stable release on the github page?

Totally reworking the whole AutoMap/Learn workflow right now, should have something to try in a week or two.

Thanks Jakeman19,

I'll reinstall this eve and then go through step by step what happens when I try to implement AutoFX mapping.

Thanks.

Just to let you know the AutoMap file format has been in flux, so, if you Auto Map a bunch of plugins, they will not be compatible with the next release.

I'd hold off for a week or so, things are coming along nicely with the new workflow.

Will this upcoming release already include support for Linux OS?

Thanks for the heads up Geoff, I'll hold fire whilst I keep an eye on your announcements.

Excellent work by the way.. Your CSI development has made Reaper complete. Kudos to you.

Thanks,

Phil
