Default Change Volume Knob to Fade in Edit Window

Hello, is it possible to change the volume knlb to a slider in the edit window, I am always mixing it up with the Pan knob?
I know I know....its a small thing, but I keep doing it!

What is the "edit window". Are you talking about the TCP window? If so there's plenty of channel gui styles under "Options" -> "Layouts"

The window where you edit media, as opposed to the window where you mix levels,

OK apparently I can change it in 'set track layout' when you right-click in a track, but I can not see that option only track layout, which doesn't have the option.
