Default Move cursor left (or right) to nearest item on selected track

"Hey! Can anyone create a quick script to Move cursor left (or right) to nearest item on selected track?"

This action already exist but it jumps to nearest edge of all tracks. I would like to jump to nearest (left or right) edge of item on a selected track only.

Is it possible?

Thanks

In Reaper Action List there are 2 Actions that do what you want, if i understand you correct:

Item navigation: Select and move to next item
Item navigation: Select and move to previous item

Helpful ?

Almost!

This action is almost what i'm looking for but it only jumps to the left edge of items. I'd like to jump to nearest (next or previous) edge of items of selected tracks...

Aha, sorry !

I do have 2 Actions for that in my Reaper Action List:

Script: Move to next item edge on selected tracks.eel
Script: Move to previous item edge on selected tracks.eel

Problem is that i dunno anymore if these 2 are automatically installed when you have installed Reapack (www.reapack.com).
In other words, i can't identify from which script developer these 2 scripts are.

I just download and install Reapack, but still don't have those actions...
I haven't juggled a lot with script, but is there a way you could send me those script so I could import it?

Those aren't scripts, those are just links to your action for running them. :/

If you open the actual script in Notepad, it should (hopefully) list the author at the top. I can't find a match for them on any of the repos in my ReaPack though.

Edit: Found them. https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=146270

Thank you so much!

Like I said, I haven't play a lot with load/export script. Any advice to load it?

I've export both file using Import/export in the action windows, but when I,m running it, I get this message;

Can't load file:

Move to next item edge on selected tracks.eel

Thanks

I have never been able to get these to work. I know zero about scripting, I just copy/paste the text in the boxes into a new Reascript. I've also pasted into a .txt file and saved as an eel. I get an error about a missing bracket at line 9.

Could anyone help a scripting caveman?

Hi Macc,

When you create a new reascript, you have to name your new script. Just add .eel at the end (in our case).
I think reascript saves to .lua by default. I had the same “bracket error” at line 9 first time i tried to make it work.

Sorted - so ridiculously simple. I feel suitably embarrassed.

Thank you!
