re-enable automation items on mute and bypass envelopes

Great but, as long as those IA are different I think they shouldn't obey the two options :
- automation item attach to underlying envelope ...
Because it makes no sense to have a diagonal line between two different state items on these lanes
Or
create two more options
- automation item attach to underlying envelope on the right side except for mute and bypass lane
- automation item attach to underlying envelope on both sifdes except for mute and bypass lane
don't know if it's doable
EDIT :
OR
the 2 options could be per item ou per lane

Visually, no, but they should be rounded. Any values below 50% are off, any values above are on. No problems then, and no need to change behavior w.r.t. underlying envelope shown/hidden etc.
This is currently not QUITE the case, as the envelope goes to muted state when you hit 25% of it, 75% of it is unmuted state. Not sure why is this. Shouldn't it be right down the smack middle?

Tooltip bug when adjusting a point of bypass envelope:
Shouldn't FX bypass envelope also use just 0 and 100% square steps, like mute envelope, by default?

Not agree, as long as you use item to set the start and the end of a mute, there's no reason for the track to be still muted at the end of AI
Try this
-enable one the options automation item attach...
-latch preview mode
-mute track and set time selection
-write current value for all writing envelope in time selection
The mute state will be preserve AFTER the end of the AI
which is great for any automation but not for "toggle" ones
sorry for bad english

Would it be possible to have modifiers for envelope lane left drag context, that can identify if the click+drag is happening inside an AI?
Example: I have ctrl+left drag bound to "draw AI" in the envelope context. I would like to use that same modifier for drawing points inside AIs.
So for example: "Draw a new automation item / Freehand draw envelope if inside AI"
Maybe a separate context for AI areas would work too, with optional "pass through to envelope lane" as with media items?

Yes! This bug appeared in 5.15 by the way, in case it helps ( https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=181205).

Automation items would be very usable on tempo track as well. Songs with multiple tempo changes (chorus, verse, bridge etc.) are much easier to handle with automation items. Also experimenting with tempo using pooled automation items for each part of the song.
I am doing stuff like that in Reason and for me, it makes a big difference. So if this is not a big deal for developers, i would be really happy if automation items would find a place on tempo track as well.
Thx!

Well said and completely agree.
Odd that devs simply state that tempo automation items are totally not of any use.

They didn't say they're no use. They're just disallowed, presumably to avoid a massive can of evil, mutant worms. Automation items on the tempo envelope would no doubt be useful but implementing it could potentially cause the universe to explode.

having AI on tempo envelope would make things a lot easier when working with multisong live performance projects.
