One Last
A few years ago I was wondering what people would do if they were suddenly told you only have time to do ONE MORE THING in life. Would you do something you've never done before or would you do something OVER again? That became this song. It's my first time mixing real drums in one of my songs. What an eye-opener THAT was! I think I finally have it sounding pretty good so I thought I'd share.

Great !
I recently wrote lyrics for the tune of the well known Jazz ballad "Stolen Moments" by Oliver Nelson, handling a very similar issue, but in a quite different flavor. Hence - as this is based on a real-world drama that happened to four rather distant acquaintances of mine - I am especially moved by your song.
Here somebody (male) "facing the final moment" decides to do a "fatal confession" and causes "disaster and pain" for his three closest friends, including the (female) one who sings the song.
Hopefully I am able to do a decent recording soon and post it here...
Thanks for sharing the song !
-Michael

Great song.
Listening in headphones I think the 'echo' voices was a bit too low and too panned.

I like it! I got a "Journey" vibe... I'm a sucker for a great, catchy chorus! Well done!
I share your feelings about mixing real drums... it IS a real eye-opener!

I also started out mixing real drums, then had an 11 piece monster Ludwig kit with 13 high end mics in their own booth, but now I'm back to 4 mics on a smaller kit, and it's still a chore to get a good drum sound. It's why I do so many drum test songs!

Great song
Re the theme - at twenty I'd have wished for one more great live gig. At thirty one more shag. At forty one more night in my wife's arms. Skip three decades and one more day with wife and grandchildren would be my wish. How life changes as we progress.

Thanks everyone! I enjoyed this one! Man, dealing with that bleed in the drums... hell, just the AMOUNT of bleed was staggering! But I asked a few people for advice on mixing drums and how to deal with the bleed and almost everyone I asked said the same thing, "Embrace the bleed!" Once I stopped trying to minimize the bleed things started coming together nicely.
Again, thanks for the responses! Glad you all liked it...

I just played bass and rhythm guitar and sang the vocal. I farmed out the "hard" parts.

I would also like to thank Karbo for giving me the confidence to attack this mess and mix it and THEN to post it. I wasn't thinking about posting it until he mentioned that I should.
Much appreciated, Sir!
