MCP dual folder track mode (collapse / open folder)
Some DAWs allow multiple mix zones, whereby a static set of mixers are kept in one window, while other mixers can be opened and closed in another window. I propose a similar feature, but in order to keep it very compatible with REAPER as it currently operates, it could function in the following manner:
When the MCP is set to collapsible track mode (currently supported), there is an arrow that unravels and collapses the child folders. In addition to the arrow button, there could be a folder icon placed right next to the arrow, and when pushed, a new floating window opens revealing a new MCP with all of the child tracks in the new window. When closed, the window disappears, and the main MCP acts as if the same action were taken to collapse the child tracks.
Why this is important. Many of us like to manipulate a set of AUX tracks that remains constant with each project. The easiest way to maneuver through this is placing the originating tracks directly underneath the parent track, and expand when needing access to. This works, however, it is very cumbersome and counter-productive to having the same 16 - 20 tracks permanently displayed and easy to access at all times. It would make work much more efficient to through floating windows on to screen 3, and allow master MCP to stay fixed on screen 2.
