Default Do I need to unplug Focusrite 2i2 when booting PC?

Hi I'm new to all this and now I have set up PC connecting to my audio interface which is the Focusrite 2i2, do I need to constantly unplug/connect the USB that connects the interface to the PC everytime I start/shutdown my PC?

No.

But if you have for instance powered speakers connected to the audio interface, make sure that those are turned off first before doing a shutdown. Or turn down the audio volume on the audio interface, just in case. To avoid any loud pops in the speakers when the audio interface gets powered up during the startup.

And welcome to the Reaper forums.

Hi Kalmigs,

No, you should definitely not have to disconnect the USB interface before shutting down the PC. Do you have a problem during restarts ?

Cheers
Rob

Thanks for the replies!!

I don't have any problems during turning on/off of my PC just that I was just making sure I won't break anything. lol

Also I have speakers plugged at the back of the focusrite 2i2, so I guess it makes sense to turn it off or volume it down during booting or turning off the PC

I'll definitely checkout the reaper user manual and videos!
