Best way to implement VST3 factory presets?
It seems that many DAWs do not support "baked-in", hard-coded VST3 presets (like they do for VST2 and AU plugins). That, IMO, is a shame because as a developer I like having everything in one place (the constructor of the cross-platform plugin code).
So, besides creating a preset manager in the plugin itself, what other ways are there to distribute factory presets for VST3 plugins? I known individual presets can be saved as "myplugin.vstpreset" files - but it's clumsy, IMO, to create, distribute and maintain matching sets of ancillary files. (Already doing this for AAX out of necessity but only SOME DAWs require it for VST3).
So how to best handle this? How are YOU providing VST3 presets?
