Default Sound card/playback issues much worse in Reaper > Cubase

I am trying to go back to Reaper from years of Cubase.

Right now have a firewire Saffire audio card that works fine with FW chipset, etc. and windows 10.

Comparing the sound card and identical project tasks, cubase performs much better without clicks/stutters etc when I start to lower the latency buffers.

This could be due to the default Cubase ASIO/guard settings - I do not understand all of the Reaper processing and buffering settings.

Thoughts?

I tend to have pretty automated projects and only working with a somewhat decent pc right now, so dpc / processing could make a difference in usability. I don't need usable latency times during mixing, automating etc but unplayable project may be an issue.

Default AISO All 4 One

I'm not using it personally, but you might try to use AISOALL4ONE. I use the presonus AISO driver and it works pretty good. Trying to get it to share now with other programs...like running youtube at the same time reaper is open...Anyhow, good luck.
