Default Crappy Latency Compensation

Hi there,

just getting back on the issue with more details.

I was complaining about missing latency compensation on the master (which sux because i am using a 250 ms lookahead effect on the master and always have to be in record mode because otherwise no smp-support at my machine, don't comment on it, just fix it!) and now i have to extend my complaint.

ATM i am using an Alesis IO|2 currently at a 5/87ms latency (don't get me started...) and (although i got all master-fx turned off) i always have to manually move-sync all the recorded tracks.

1st please fix the smp-problem. everybody else please don't comment on this, i have used the stupid amd-optimizer-driver-tool-stuff and my computer is fine, refer to my previous threads where noone could help me. also it works as soon as i arm one channel for record. simply look what is different in record-armed mode and use that.

2nd please fix me up with some master-fx-latency compensation. it's really annoying not to be able to record into a finished mix without having to manually sync-move everything.

3rd look over the rest of the latency compensation, something is wrong.

feel free to ask me about everything except the smp-thing (just fix that, i know you can).

yours very much likely truly,

Tillmann

Its easier to catch bugs with sugar, than it is with vinegar.

Just a thought.

Yeh... Sorry, i'm getting kinda pissy because of the smp-thing, because it is obvious that something was overseen during coding. and the latency compensation is just not worth a 1.xx-version. and these 2 issues are almost the basis of a daw.

and i've complained about both before - very friendlyly (-lyly - does that exist?) and nothing happened.

also i don't really understand why two computers can be networked now when two cores can't (properly)...

i am sorry if i appear rude...

emagics logic hadn't had master latency compensation for years. why not simply disable your fx in the masterchain during recording that's causing the latency ? or do i missunderstand you.

-.-

that is freaking annoying. absolutely non-flowy! turn off (incl. turning volume down - limiter is off now!) record - turn on (turn volume up). everytime. have you ever recorded vocals? i got enough turning on-off because i have to unarm my smp-channel everytime i record something. (don't know what i mean? read my first post)

also without the master-latency-compensation the fresh super-cool metronome is too early.
