automation items: encapsulate all existing envelopes in AI?

i'm converting a lot of old projects into using REAPER's new automation item features.
this involves going through and, if there's envelope data on the track, capturing it in an AI and then moving on to the next. when i'm done with this, i disable background envelopes so that there are only AIs.

i don't see an easy way to automate this process. any tips? an action or script that would just create track-long automation items for all envelopes would be sufficient.
