Nektar Impact LX25 with reaper
I am considering buying a Nektar Impact LX25 to use as a a controller and keyboard in conjunction with Reaper as it comes preconfigured for use with Reaper (as well as other DAWs)
If anybody in this forum uses one I would be interested in their opinions.

Yes, I use this Nektar controller with Reaper.
Not extensively, but I do use the keyboard, pads and transport controls.

Have you tried the features which completly control reaper? as (apparently) you can do everything on the nektar impact 25 without having to barely look at the computer screen - which makes for a faster workflow.
I have seen a demo about this on their more expensive offerings but not this one

No. I haven't tried to control Reaper completely. Just the transport controls.
That works fine.
Using an I Mac.

I own a Nektar Impact, but don't really use it for anything else than a keyboard. If you want to control you DAW I'd rather go with something which has motorized faders and/or midi feedback, but maybe that's just me. I'd rather us a mouse than a soft-takeover fader. So maybe a Midi Fighter Twister, a BCR2000, a faderport or a Nektar Panorama.
If you plan on using the pads for drumming I'd go with Akai instead. Maybe find a used midi keyboard and then get an MPD218.

If you adjust a parameter with you mouse or use the controller on another track it will jump to where the fader physically is, when you move the next parameter. This is a deal breaker for me personally, but if you don't mind this you can go with the Nektar. It good piece of gear for the price.
If you can afford it and have the space check out the Panorama series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmqXqHq_EO4&t=97s

Can't afford that!
"will jump to where the fader physically is" - isn't that a something controlled within reaper where midi control surfaces parameters are, under actions - track value volume - soft takeover

It can be set to absolute or soft takeover. With soft takeover it doesn't move until you hit the point where the parameter is at and then it moves. It might work for you, but I don't think it is truly the tactile feel that it should be. I ended up not using it and just used the mouse.
What about a cheap used keyboard and a faderport or an alphatrack? These control whatever track is selected and will move according to where that track fader is set. They also do alot of other stuff.
The Alphatrack is dirt cheap used because it is discontinued, but it has an anazing driver for Reaper just like the Faderport has. Imo the Alphatrack is the more powerful of the two.

Yes, it is a quality product. I own and use one myself. The resolution is very fine and you can really make small incremental changes. If you install on windows 10 remember to install the official driver in "windows 7 compatibility mode" and then add the plugin I linked to for Reaper.
