Default How to render a MIDI track to audio in real time

A couple of MIDI tracks are not rendering well to audio. There are skipped notes, "jerkiness"...these are both tracks that contain long notes (strings and accordian). I read somewhere it´s safer to render to audio MIDI tracks in real time to help avoid this problem but I don't see a real time option under "render/freeze tracks". Is there another way? Thanks!

In the "Render to File" dialog there's a dropdown for render speed, containing '1 x Offline' and 'Online' which are both effectively real time afaik.

Also another way would be routing output of the MIDI track to another track and set that track to "Record: output".
