Default Can I change my pre-recorded music?

As I have previously posted I am a singer. The one song I am working on right now is the song 'Somewhere' made famous by Barbra Streisand.

The first two words of the song are:

Someday
Somewhere

Now, the background music of this song I have is pre-recorded. The issue is that this background music goes by too quickly for my personal taste and I would like to extend just this one part of the song so I can hold the first two notes as long or short as I might want.

Since I get the music I use pre-recorded, is there a way for me to extend the length of just a portion of the music track?

Yes, there is by cutting/pasting and the use of crossfades. Most pre-recordings can be manipulated with the use of those tools/functions. I can't say for sure how easy or complicated this will be for the song you have without hearing it and knowing what part you're looking to extend.

Using another empty track, copy selected area of item, split item at prior crossing and maybe copy and paste you should be able to extend your parts.
You may be needing also to edit your Volume line and your pre fx volume line as well.
I will leave you to work all the rest out someone might have a better method.

you can time stretch without pitch change - there is a limit to how much, but you can get a fair bit that way.

The easiest way is probably to use stretch markers
