Envelopes: Confusion with Multi Output VSTi Plug-ins
Hey All:
I've set up a project with Multi Output VSTi Plug-ins...just one point of confusion:
Is it possible to set up envelopes for both the originating VSTi (thereby affecting the entire output on all channels), and for each individual channel under that parent? If so, how? (The manual is very confusing to me on this point).
If it's too complicated to explain, any webpage/forum thread/video link would be greatly appreciated...Thanks!

Potentially any envelope...at the moment, I'm just looking to modulate volume with an envelope...which I can do (generally speaking). I just don't know how to set up envelopes for both the 'master' VSTi (parent) and envelopes for all the individual channels (assuming it's possible).
Thanks!

Yes. Automation envelopes are set up on the tracks to be automated (so not on the VSTi track in this case).
Click the Automation button on the track and select the check-box to the left of "Volume". Reaper for the other tracks.
If you want to automate something for the combined audio from all the tracks:
(a) either Send them all to a new track and automate that,
(b) or put them all in a folder (not the VSTi track) and automate that folder track.

Thanks...got the volume envelope to work.
Unfortunately, now I can't figure out the reverb...
Reverb doesn't seem to work whether I put it inside the 'parent' VSTi, or if I connect it to a single output channel. Sorry, I wish I wasn't so confused.
Any help would be appreciated...thanks.

Try this set-up: create a separate track - easiest is a folder track). So you end up with:
-- VSTi track
-- Audio bus track (a folder) << the Reverb (and its envelopes) goes here
---- audio out A << individual track FX go here
---- audio out B << individual track FX go here
---- etc
The audio from the Multi-Output plug-in goes to the various 'audio out' tracks. Those tracks are put into a folder track ('Audio bus') and their audio is routed to the folder track. Add the Reverb to that folder track to apply it to the combined audio.
If you created the 'audio out' tracks suing "Insert VSTi as new track" etc, the the Master Send on the VSTi track will be disabled and the only audio sent to the Master track will be from the 'Audio bus' track above. If not you may need to disable it yourself (click the [Route] button on the VSTi track for the Routing window.

Thanks so much Dark Star...works like magic!
Next up: Putting FX on individual MIDI tracks (if possible):
So...I have a Multi-Output plug-in with multiple tracks. The parent track has 'sends' to the reverb track...cool. But what if I want any individual MIDI track to have an FX on it only? 'Send Volume' assignments work on each track...cool. Reverb...not so much.
Is there any way to assign reverb to individual MIDI tracks given a multi-output VSTi?
Many thanks!
