Default Folder appearance in V6 theme like in Default 5?

Hi, is it possible in rtconfig or anywhere else to make folder indent looks similiar to default 5? (see pictures)

So basically to place the "compact folder" button along with the track number to the right side of the tracks (maybe after the Mute and Solo button) and get some nice shape for the folder tracks beginning.
I like most part of the v6 theme but this is kind of annoying to look at it
I'm a noob in that. Anyone pls? : )

First post on forum, sorry for anything wrong.
Thanks.

Yes, these fragments on the left side of the folders look wrong. They
are annoying - like left over odd relics.

So yes, they should be removed!

Those "fragments" are for the track numbers. V5 has the same thing but on the right edge of the TCP. Task of changing v6 default theme to have similar looking TCP layout(s) as v5 default is more involved than just changing couple of lines in rtconfig.

Possible, otherwise you wouldn't see those things in v5 either...but maybe the first crucial question would be, what are you willing to lose from v6 default theme features, including the possibility to use the Theme adjuster on given layouts? Nothing is ok answer too, but means rebuild of the theme and the related scripts.

If you have many folders the arrange window looks
extremely fissured and craggy. It confuses every worker!

That is obvious!

Maybe it is enough if there is the option to NOT show
the track numbers of foldertracks - and subsequently adapt
the theme? Dunno if this can easily be realized.

It seems that you gave the folder-hide-arrow the same background colour as the
whole track panel has. It looks better, indeed!

The track folders in theme version 6 look
like this:

Here at the left side you can clearly see the
fissured and craggy left edge (see red arrow):
It looks like there are forgotten relics.

Yes I don't want to loose the Theme adjuster, I guess an extra TCP "folder" layout would do the job for me.

Yes that's look better! But the left edge is still too "angular" to me comparing to the v5 version.

I made an empty folder track for a starting point. (see attachment)

1. I copied some line (I don't remember where from) to rtconfig which gave me a simple folder layout with the collapse button on the right side of the track (no track number but for this purpose I don't need it)

Layout "Custom - Folder + label" "custom folder label"
clear tcp.*
set tcp.size [400 100 80 .]
set tcp.label h<40 [12 40 344 19 0 0.5 1 0.5] [12 40 344 19 0 0.5 1 0.5] ;the 2nd value, top edge of control must match the compared to height value which is 40
set tcp.label.margin [. . . . 0.5]
set tcp.label.color [233 233 233]
set tcp.foldercomp [382 0 18 19 1 0 1 0]
set tcp.folder h<32 [0] [382 86 18 14 1 1 1 1] ;to force button remain visible in fully collapsed state remove condition h<32 [0], might want to disable tcp.foldercomp button so it looks prettier
EndLayout

2. I changed the *fcomp* files with transparent background and only a 90°rotated ">" which can be nice in some font types.

At this point can I place buttons back? And how? Still would be cool to make the track left edge cut like in v5.

I don't think its possible in 6th theme in non hacky way anyway.
Reaper has folder indentation method tcp_folderindent that puts overlapping images that give this 5th theme folder transition look. As 6th theme has variable indentation amount it doesn't use it, I guess for image scaling issues. Instead it uses hacky code way that cannot use additional images where it wants.

The way I did it is by using Auto Color/Layout script that changes layout for folder tracks to ones that have cutouts in bg images.

Yep, that would be a reasonable approach. You can indeed make or copy layouts and images too, and add them to the v6 default. Here's an example v6 theme White Tie did with some extra v5 MCP strips; White Tie's Default V6 Modders' Supplies

Naming a thing might help others to find and deal with it, nothing personal meant with that. For example your willingness to lose track numbers became obvious when you literally said that.

Yes I'm already using theese MCP layouts from WT's theme but unfortunately I dont know how to do this hack with other layouts (like what exactly do i have to copy to get a standard v5 tcp layout in v6).

That would be the final step indeed.

This honestly bothers me so much. Is this the future of REAPER Themes for v6? I feel like even if you can make it look pretty, the functionality and responsiveness will always be compromised by this flaw. It kinda makes folders unusable.

This is how it was:

You have all controls aligned.
The track name is responsive.
Mute and solo button makes way more sense this way.
The track indent connects directly to the children track.

Then you have this in V6:

Track name is no longer responsive.
Track indents honestly look so out of place.
And the worst part is how nothing is no longer aligned vertically. Makes it so chaotic!

But you can align the track controls with the theme adjuster:

Except that it just breaks your project!
Have 4-5 subfolder levels and suddenly you can't even see any parameter in TCP.
I don't understand how anyone would even use that
