Default Just a quick question about control surfaces

After working with a zoom r16 as a control surfaces for quite a while I'm getting tired of the jumps in the faders after reopening a project. Even with the soft take over..
As I was looking into moterized faders I came across the faderport and the icon qcon. If I understand it correctly the faderport is still sold but no longer being developped. So drivers will become a problem in a while. The Qcon seems a pretty alternative but I do not come across many reviews.
Another alternative maybe is a controller with endless rotarys like midi fighter twister but I'm not shure if that will work as a controller for reaper.
So my questions: will the faderport (my prefered choise) work with mac and reaper for several years? If not, will the twister do the job?

Nobody can answer if Faderport will continue working with Mac, it's a Mac, Apple could release and update and stop it from working at any point in time, they have done so previously with various controllers from all developers.

As for using MIDI Fighter twister, there is no support for it in Reaper, so unless you write your own it wont work fully (No LED Rings feedback or banking)

Thank you. writing my own is a bit too far out of my comfort zone....

Controller support in Reaper is horrific, i am guessing the developers think controllers are pointless, it is the only excuse not to have something like Traktors or Virtual DJs mapping abilities, they both show how very simple good controller mapping can be.

Controller support looks just fine in Reaper if you do it this way:

Which Berrimger are you using? I was thinking of getting the X32 touch. I like the idea of the scribble strips and motorized faders, etc. Are there published mappings for it or other control surfaces?
