Default JS MIDI Utility stuff

I often use MIDI to add triggered samples to drums. I would really love some sort of plugin that allows me to see what note and velocities are happening, let me block certain notes or remap notes, and compress velocity ranges, I see some MIDI JS plugs that seem like theyll do parts of this, but I'm not good with MIDI so Im not sure. Can someone tell me what I should be using to do these functions?

I'd use MIDI_Logger_DS for monitoring the MIDI:

And Code FN42'a Note Mapper for transposing, blocking

You could add them as Insert FX or even Input FX.

Oh, and for compressing MIDI velocity ranges:

or

Or IXix's 'MIDI Tool II'

What exactly does "velocity scaling %" do in these?
