Default Freeze Function Bug

Hey,

I just replied on another thread discussing this, but there wasn't an outcome and it was a little bit dated.

So the freeze function in Reaper is really cool but it has a weird glitch where on some tracks strange things happen when you freeze too many tracks at the same time.
Most of the time the issue is on a few tracks where the place gets shifted or some parts get muted. As far as I know it has nothing to do with plugins because it happens on tracks with and without plugins.

I was wondering if other people still encounter this problem and if there maybe is a workaround.

Thanks in advance,
Toon

there was a bug recently (fixed now 6.12) where if the items were named the same as the track freeze would malfunction

something different?

post a video, or share a minimal project file that consistently fails freezing

Thanks for your reply
I think I found the problem. It's really weird though. When I try to freeze a lot of tracks and there are tracks included that are muted, weird things start to happen. When I unmute them and do the same thing everything seems fine. But when I mute only a hand full of tracks and one of them is muted it also works fine. Really weird bug. I don't want to celebrate too early but I'm at least glad I found the source of the problem.

Btw, how do people on this forum make those screencap gifs. Is there a tool for that, or do they just make a screenrecording and convert that to gif?

you can do either, video is easier to replay parts, scales up or down easily, and there's sound.

You can use reaper to convert video to gif or video to gif

cockos makes a gif recording tool called LICEcap

http://cockos.com/licecap/

I use imgur to share gifs, or youtube unlisted videos
