Reaper64 rewire to Reason 10.1 (64) Not Syncing

I have just upgraded to a Mac min with OS Sierra 64 bit. I also downloaded the most recent version of Reaper (v5.941/64) and Reason (10.1.2d1(64). In my old windows set up I had no trouble getting Reaper to sync with Reason, and I know how to get it all working.

But now when I go to initiate rewire Reason in Reaper, a pop up window says the “effect plug-in could not be loaded”. I contacted Propellerhead and they said as long as I have 64 bit of each program (I do) and the Reaper and Reason rewire plug-ins are loaded on my computer (they are), then the problem is with Reaper. So I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas for me that might help my delemma?
