Default [6.46,6.47] Reaper all of a sudden causes 100% CPU Load after startup

Hi!

I've been a long time Reaper user.Since today, all of a sudden, Reaper causes 100% CPU load (actually it causes svchost to suddenly block 90% CPU) right when I start it. I've not installed any VST Plugins or changed anything else on my computer. I also made sure that no scripts are running.

OS is Win 11 Pro 22000.493

anyone else has this issue?

That's why I wrote about it. Are you sure you fully disabled it? Hm, it also may be W11 issue, because it's still full of bugs, but let's see whether the devs will find a bug.

i see. as I mentioned, what is so weird about all of this is that I've been running reaper on windows 11 for weeks without any problems...this issue came completely out of the blue

For now I recommend you to downgrade (just install old version to same folder) to the last working version.

thank you! i think it's a windows issue that causes the problem. I'll try to see if windows had updated itself during the last 48hours.

i just downgraded to 6.44 and the problem persists

You are very welcome. If so, then it's Windows 11 problem, not Windows at all, because I don't have this issue (win 10) .

apparently Microsoft just released a Win11 Update. I installed it, now everything appears to be back to normal.

Cool, you can add (NOT BUG) to the thread's title by editing the title in the first message (advanced mode).
