Default RX plug-in not working with 5.40

Hello

I am using reaper 5.40 release(64bit) on Windows 10. The izotope RX plug-in pack generally works with reaper 5.40. However, the dialogue de-noise plug-in shows a strange behavior when used with 5.40. It works without a problem with other DAWs, for example Audacity.

The procedure to reproduce the bug:

1. open reaper
2. insert a new track (or load an audio file to a new track)
3. click fx and add izotope dialogue de-noise (VST or VST3)
4. click "Manual" and "Learn"
5. click play

Now you can see the Learn button is unpressed(deactivated). The expected behavior is the learn button remains activated and engaged after play button clicked.

learn mode on rx plugins have always been like this.

make a time selection around room tone. set transport to loop

play, learn, disengage learn. stop. turn off loop and clear time selection.

Thank you for confirming this defect.

I contacted the iZotope Customers Service and their response after several exchange was:

"Despite our efforts, the troubleshooting attempted has been so far unsuccessful. Since we have not received reports of this issue from other users, evidence suggests that the root cause is in the specific configuration of the host machine you are using."

They think it is my machine.

After 25 email exchanges, they finally acknowledged that this is not a specific configuration issue.

My apologies. You are correct.

Thanks again for your patience with this. After further testing it does seem to be exclusively occurring within Reaper.

This issue has now been logged with our Development team for further investigation. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention.
I haven't heard from them since then. It was in the beginning of May.

I think I found the cause of the dysfunction in the mean while. When using izotope RX plugin in reaper, I can click UI button provided by reaper. It will turn the UI into a simpler one with a list of parameters and sliders. I can see most of the parameters except the LEARN button. Do you think it's related to the dysfunction?

it is likely that function is not available for automation, not being in the parameter list is probably by design.

Recently, a way to circumvent this is added to reaper(and then taken away again in v5.71rc1 though). Have a look at https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.ph...44&postcount=4
