Default File | Render... to a WAV file - Adds extra silence at the end of file

1. Record/Take a short piece of audio
2. Trim the audio to remove leading/trailing silence
3. File|Render|WAV File|24bit|(Mono or Stereo)
4. Renders the audio to a file - but notice the extra /space/silence in the waveform that is drawn to show what has been exported - it would sppear that the fault is possibly here, in the File|Render function?
5. Insert a new Track
6. Insert|Media File - import the rendered audio from step 4

The two tracks now show the same audio, vertically/time aligned, except the newly imported version in the new track is longer in duration - having extra silence added at the end.

- Is this correct? I have been trying to prepare short samples and pieces of spoken dialogue and this makes it very difficult due to the extra duration

Many Thanks

Hi Mc:

In the top line of the "Render to file" dialogue, which option did you use for "bounds"?

Check Preferences (-> Audio) -> Rendering, if adding a tail when rendering is set

edit:
Also in the render dialog itself make sure that no tail is set

Thank you for your replies -
...I've just found the reason! In File|Render|Entire Project there is a [x] tick-box for "tail" on the right-hand-side and the default is 1000ms - the extra second appended to the end of every audio file!

- Not a bug, as designed!

Many Thanks
- Mike
