Default how do i normalize to 97%

how do i normalize to 97%

and when i hit normalize to what percentage does it do it?

Right click on the item and select Properties/Volume and then you will see you a bunch of choices to Normalize the item.

There's an excellent user guide which has the answers to most of our questions. You should check that out.

simple normalisation will adjust (non-destructively, you can always go back) so that the item will peak at 0dBFS, which I suppose you might call 100%

I don't know why you'd need 97%, but that's something like -0.26 dB.

If you've got the sws extension installed you could do:
Normalize selected takes to dB value...

Normalize defaults to 0dBFS (100% on the peaks).

There’s an action with SWS extensions that allows for custom normalization (dBFS, not percentage).

Reaper normalizes to 99.9 % most of the time. They say it is by design and not a bug. Pretty lame. Why cut corners for something so simple ?
