Is there a trick, a txt file or something to set the midi outputs of the knobs faster than rightclick and going through the menues?

Not currently - only for actual midi controls (can be set up in the FX edit mode).

Of course you could hack the .lbxstripper data file - but I really wouldn't recommend it.

I'll work out a way to make it quicker...

EDIT: actually - there is a minor bug (feature?) - in that you can add a midictl to the strip (TRACK EDIT mode - T - other controls). Then still in FX or TRACK edit mode - select the midictl FIRST - then hold ctrl and select other controls that you want to set midi up for. Then in the CTL OPTIONS window at the botton is a SET MIDI button - click this and you can set up the midi for all the selected controls. If you don't select the midi control first - the SET MIDI button doesn't appear.

You would still then need to go through each one (in LIVE) mode to change the CC number of each to make it unique...

Will try and think of a quicker way for the future though...

i can swear i read somewhere in the pages (page 114 maybe)
about full screening the Stripper via a keystroke...
also you were saying:
"i have no second monitor but i know someone who has..." or something similar...

i was planning to jump in to conversation
(via asking who is that lucky ... as like me )
but forgot because of my daily things...

i just remembered and want to try that full screen thingy to see if works to me too,
(Stripper full screen on the left monitor & Reaper on the right)
but can't find the posts!

did i just dreamed all above?

It is possible yes - but it requires an external Autohotkey script. Really easy to do - so if it's something you would like - I'll create one and post it.

You will need to install Autohotkey for it to work.

Ok - your call.

For info:

AutoHotKey is free (windows only), is very useful - and a tiny program (4.6Mb download). It just runs scripts that can be written to manipulate Windows stuff. Technically - a malicious script could destroy your system - so it is wise to be careful with it---.

In this case I would have a line in the script to identify the LBX Stripper window - then get it to change the window properties to remove the border and titlebar - and then maximize to fill the screen. None of this can be done from within Reascript.
--
You could have it running in the background (with a virtually zero CPU footprint) - then a 'hotkey' shortcut could trigger fullscreen and normal window for stripper.

Or - you could simply make it so you run it once - it makes fullscreen (then closes the hotkey script - so nothing running in the background). Run it again - it reverses this action.

Anyway - no probs.

i am not worrying about cpu usage or performance ..
just installing extra windows-ish things - tools/gadgets always makes me nervous a little
i think ill pass for now..

Thank you so much for your time & crystal clear detailed info!

A quick update:

Fix for graphical glitch where controls could bounce up or down by a pixel (due to me allowing a non-integer height on the strip window from a recent-ish update).

Also - hover mouse over a control and press Shift+M (Stripper window must have focus) - opens up the midi out window - as a kind of shortcut rather than going through the menu each time for each control which could take a while.

Yes - but like I said before - it's kind of a hack due to a bug that's in there...

Add a midi control (TRACK EDIT mode [T] -> Other controls) to the strip. Select the MIDI control FIRST - then select (hold ctrl/cmd) the other controls you want to set the midi for. The in CTL OPTIONS - click the SET MIDI button. If you select the controls in a different order - the set midi button won't appear.

At the moment - this is the best way - until I change it so the SET MIDI button is always visible (originally it was only there for MIDI controls).

Hey. I made another web page to help making LBX Stripper knobs. It includes the image transposer I linked to previously.

As Timbral says - there is the send checks option. But - this is not perfect and cannot correctly keep track of all situations. The problem is that Reaper reorders the sends automatically - you have no control over this. So if you add a new send and reaper puts it before any of the others - the script has to notice this and reorder it's data internally - but some situations just completely confuse it. The send checks is the best I've come up with - and works well generally.

Try checking the option - and see if it helps. It possibly won't correct any incorrect sends that already exist.

There seems to be a reaper Problem with the Identification of Hardware sends. I worked around this now by sending to another track which then goes to the Hardware.
In that scenario I now can change the send-order which solved my Problem!
Thanks!

LBX is really heaven-send or whatever space. Are you sure you're human?

I'd like so save preset settings of a complex synth or guitar amp in the snapshots... is there any easy way?

I just can't add all involved values to the LBX, beacause that would become too complex again. Just want to setup the most important values... It could be the perfect live-Preset-switcher that way...

---- edit

Hmmm, I just need a kind of VST or JS which has a Slider and changes the presets, so I could import that slider to LBX... !?

hej mccy, what you want is already possible
I use this functionality every day for my nebula programs which I switch via ReaControl Midi.

1. you save your desired presets of your synths as reaper-presets.
2. you insert a REaControl-Midi instance on your track before your VST-synth.
3. add an ReaControlMidi-Switch (find it in TrackParameters/others/) into the strip.
4. assign the RCM.control to the right ReaControl Midi Instance.
5.. in FX-parameter edit mode right click the RCM and and here you add the desired preset-numbers and then you can switch them via a drop-down menu.

Hope this helps.

That seems perfect, THANKYOU SO MUCH, although I have to experiment/read a bit to understand how to assign RCM to the Instance... Didn't find it at once...

you're welcome!
just insert an ReaControl-Midi VST onto the track first, then insert the rcm-control into the stripper, then drag the FX-instance (under fx-edit-mode) onto the RCM control, that's it

6 .. i think also you need to activate:

plus my experiences so far:

i would check first to see if the vst / vsti
has native Midi Program (also Bank) Change support..
if yes .. you don't need to save "Reaper presets" !!
create a REABANK (Preset Names and program order numbers) file for the ReaControlMIDI and just import reacontrol midi "Program" parameter in to Grid (Stripper)...walaaa!!
i think i am gonna record a simple vid. demonstration in a hour.

OK!
i recorded 18 mins video
"LBX-STRIPPER_Saving & Recalling plugin presets via Snapshots"

but at the end i realized Snapshots can't capture the "ReaControlMidi Switch"
am i missing something obvious?
EDIT: yep was using first time

I don't see any reason why I cannot add them to snapshots - just never have been asked to yet

There might be issues with certain applications - like Nebula which takes some time to respond to any program change messages sent by RCM - so not conducive to flicking through snapshots. This may be the main reason why I've not bothered. Also - the RCM would need to be changed first in a snapshot - otherwise it might cause very unexpected results and the snapshots may not recall correctly if you have other parameters in the snapshot too...

So it isn't straightforward - but might be possible. Certainly easy enough to add the option - just might need quite a bit of work to get it functioning well (and it won't function well in all cases - for that I'm sure)...

ah!
No.. i didn't meant "why it doesn't work with the snapshots already" ..
we have already wonderfully working system for this.. so.. to me you can keep the RCM Switch as it is!
i was creating a video for Saving & Recalling plugin presets via Snapshots
as i said this was the fist time i used RCM switch technique..
and i assumed RCM switch also works with snapshots..
at the end of the recording i realized it doesn't and i thought i found a bug

short:
please just never mind, leave the RCM as it is .. i am gonna record a fresh one in a moment!

But what do you mean by this then? Is there a way I'm missing how to recall settings which are more complex than the values that are directly accessible in LBX?
Maybe it just is no problem to add all values of a guitar amp or synth and somehow just let them disappear where they don't disturb the 'quick' workflow, but it would be also possible to finetune or even recall presets and save them as a whole...

I think I will give this idea a try.

Martin

... anyway, I could need that first video for basic function of that preset changer...

upload will finish in a few minutes..
i tried to show all i know so far about the plugin preset capture & recall topic..
(<spoiler alert>)
you can hide even thousands of Controls (parameters) even in a 16x16 or 4x4 pixel area.. they never can disturb you in Stripper Live mode anymore!

YES!!! FOUND OUT THIS JUST SOME SECONDS AGO!!!!!

I'm totally blown away by the reasonable complexity of this beast!!! Everything is covered and well thought. Just no shortcut at all so far... except that little timesucker Midi out settings for value feedback in controller devices.

just thinking out loud..
is something like this also works for you?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGmJPvr7T2Y

its basically a JSFX..
has Midi out channel selector and CC number selectors you can use multiple instances.. just change the CC numbers & Channel number.

Thank you! I indeed thought about something like that in the beginning though I don't know, if I really get your point.

I now use Lemur and as said in an earlier post in this thread, on the whole lemur template I use there are around 50 parameters on a page, maybe 200 the complete set. Most go to 16 x 6 Matrix of clips in Helgo Boss Playtime and controlling some paramters there. A huge bunch goes to general automation of volume, pan, send 1&2, Mute & Solo of 16 Channels. Then there is the basic channel strip with around 50 parameters on each of the 16 channel strips, luckily only one LBX set necessary, midi controlling switched by activating ReaLearn per selected channel midi input. Last but not least I'm working now on Instrument-sets for looper-input: Voice (& acoustic instruments), electric guitar/bass, Synth, Drums, other samples... every group in its own channel with a LBX control strip for each to remember sounds. I'm now doing the guitar strip and the value feedback thing is really time consuming, but at least I got around that preset thing, just adding all parameters of complex devices and making them invisible, so complex channel-strip sounds come as snapshots in LBX. It's working perfectly right now!

Maybe this will be the most complex Looping-Device-worldwide :-) - and yes I even did some gigs with ableton and liked it's precision, but in the end this reaper setup probably will blow ableton away as small pieces of dust.

ah OK!
i thought you were controlling your HW Synths, effects etc..
my suggestion was put multiple instances into one track and define the track HW output to desired device/port and control your synths ..
since all controls are (CC & channel selectors) visible all the time (JSFX i mean)
i assumed might be a little easy to setup for you..
anyway,
now i think i get your point!

&
i would love to see in action that setup
especially the Playtime how you integrate & use it.. what is the benefits etc..
because i believe you can do similar things with the Take Switchers.

I only read "Take Switchers" and believe in a second that this would have made me lucky 4 years ago, if it existed then :-). I've heard nothing about that so far. I once did a really cool looper setup
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...&v=12O0pbXZZFE (just prove of concept)
but gave it up when not really getting into a smooth song structure... but that could be done with that "take switchers" ?!?!?

EDIT:
there is some brain fart moment in the video .. i tried to "LEARN" wrong fx parameter for a few seconds ..so just ignore / do not get confused
