Mic note showing in Reaper devices

Hi, I connected my old Samson c01u,(not the pro with the headphone input)
to my usb input, opened Reaper, Preferences, Devices...it's not showing up as an option.
Does it require a driver?
I feel like I'm missing something simple.

i think it's just class compliant, so it should work with WASAPI or DirectSound. Is windows seeing it (if you click on your speaker icon and go to recording devices)?

The DirectSound worked.
Now I have to work out latency.
