Default Track to Track recording

I know this can be done, but I just cannot figure it out. I have a vocal on one track, I want to send that vocal through some effects and record the results onto a different track? can anyone help?

And if you want to record both the original vocal and the FX track, drag the vocal routing button to the record track also.

Maybe this is shown in the gif posted by valy, but I didn't see it...
You need to record Track output on that other track.

I appreciate this but I get no signal, when the destination track is "not" armed the signal is there, when I arm the destination track, there is no signal

It shows me record-enabling the output track but I used Ctrl-R to actually enter recording because the button was off the LICECAP.

So you armed it and hit record, and nothing was recorded?
