Default Trim and remove selected area of items (selected items) without ripple editing

I would like new actions for trim and remove selected area of items without ripple editing
Or vice versa - an option for ripple editing, which temporarily locks the movement of items during trim or deletion

Hey Yanick,

You should be able to accomplish that by just toggling ripple edit on and off as you need it, since ripple editing isn't "automatic" for any tool but has to be turned on for the project. Look up "Options: Cycle ripple editing mode" (3-click toggle), "Toggle ripple editing all tracks" (2-click toggle) or "Toggle ripple editing per-track" (2-click toggle), in the actions list in order to turn ripple editing on/off when you need to.

Thank you, I know about this It's about making it work without switching. I even made a script for myself to turn off and on ripple editing to remove items without offsets. I want this little thing to work without scripts

And, interestingly, if you delete an item using the API function, ripple editing is ignored. That is, in fact, it already works, but again it is separate from the native actions. The most convenient solution would be to create an option for ripple editing - to lock the movement of items, when the ripple editing is enabled

I already think that an option is needed - a right click on the ripple editing button, and there is an option "lock the movement of items when deleting items" or "Disable ripple editing when deleting items" or "Delete items without ripple editing" etc. Something like this

And it should also apply to all content (items, automation items, envelopes). For example an option "Delete content without ripple editing"
