What file are you changing the extension of? Exact filename please.

ClearViewSag.ReaperThemeZip

On some themes it works but on this one(slightly tweaked Clearview) it doesn't.
Moreover- on the ones I managed to unzip, replacing the midi colormap is not effective. Nor is loading the color map in midi editor options. I've seen people have issues with that... btw this is the main issue, clearview's colormap is odd.
Thanks synkrotron for getting back

You changed that to ClearViewSag.ReaperTheme.Zip, and didn't accidentally try to add .zip to ClearViewSag.ReaperTheme?

Oh yeah now that I think. At first that's how I did it. Could that corrupt it?

I don't think you necessarily corrupted anything. File with the .ReaperTheme extension is the color/font definition file for a given theme. That's the file which gets created when you save the theme from inside the Theme tweaker. If you added a .zip extension to that one, you could just remove it and it should be back to normal.

The actual theme package is the one with the .ReaperThemeZip extension. You just add a dot to it to make it .ReaperTheme.Zip and you should be able to unpack it.

Using 7Zip, there is no need for renaming...it will just extract it. You can also create theme zips in 7Zip by just typing in .ReaperThemeZip as the file extension after the name.

I see these renaming posts a lot, and this quicker method is so much more efficient and less confusing.

A .ReaperTheme is the oldest and simplest form of a theme. A set of colours and font assigments. If you save under a different name from the theme tweak/configuration window, you just made a whole new .ReaperTheme. A .ReaperTheme also contains a link to a resource folder*

A Resource Folder is a folder full of extra stuff. Images and an rtconfig file. Each theme usually has its own resource folder, but it doesn't have to, if all you've done is tweaked a few colours then your new theme can carry on linking to the resource folder of the originating theme.

A ReaperThemeZip is the above two, zipped up. For the optional convenience of sharing the whole lot in one easy file.

-----------------------

* Instead of pointing to a resource folder, a ReaperTheme could instead point to an exisitng ReaperThemeZip file. That tells Reaper "look inside there, and use its resource folder".
