Default Retro Modern

Inspired by this amazingly funky Energy XT theme - http://asseca.com/wiki/Skins/ModernRetro

I cloned and added to it to work with reaper. Notice the XT Sequencer floating in the lower right. Looks seemless between the programs. The toolbar icons are pretty much from scratch. I will likely incorporate them in some other theme I come up with.

Enjoy. Always open to feedback, I'm sure most wont like the item background and peak colors - feel free to change them.

Fader problems again.

The vertical ones seem to have a ghost following them. Will sort that out when I can.

I think these are some of my favorite toolbar icons yet. Nice work.

wow thanks James!

I rarely visit this section and now this! Positive surprise.

Nice work with the toolbar, fits nicely with the skin, but look also very versatile.

Sweet. I replaced the faders with the ones from the PT theme. New favorite theme. Thanks.

I was hoping we'd start seeing some transference from XT themes to REAPER themes.

There's some great themes for XT out there.

Regards
Caleb

I've been thinking about making one... some day. Don't really know what's involved in making a REAPER theme.

Oooooh .jon that would be nice.

I don't know that much about it myself as me designing a skin would be - ummm - a mistake.

But someone around here should be able to give you some advice.

Regards

I'm glad people like the theme! I missed an opportunity here though ...

I should have named it Reatro Modern!

Looks good with the PT faders Lawrence! They stand out better. My faders were copies from the XT theme. I still haven't gotten around to fixing the vertical faders.

.jon - I'm assuming the XT Jonskins are yours? Very nice! I'm glad you found this thread. Making Reaper themes are pretty simple. Just create your new icons and put them in a folder with the proper name and point Reaper to it in the Color Theme prefrences. Change the clors to taste. I'm using various freeware to make the icons and using irfranview to convert them to .ico files. 16 x 16 pixels is a little challenging to work with. I'm still discovering what tranlates well.

A preview of the icons I am (was) working on.

Hopefully will get a chance to finish them up. Not happy with the envelope icons yet. These should work (hopefully) with any background. Originally inspired by the big solo and CUT buttons on a soundcraft ghost. May end up a "ghost" theme or something different. Need a name. I'm into making the buttons look like they latch and pop up with this one.

Yes, that's why this was such a nice surprise :-)

Thanks for the info, doesn't sound too difficult! Don't like the .ico format, though... I use Xara and ico means that I need to export them via photoshop, and even PS needs a 3rd party filter to do that.
