Default Rendered Audio ?

Which determines the level at which audio is heard and after during rendering ?
Is it the sliders for each track ?
Or how you can pull down the segments of individual tracks with the mouse ?

I'm sorry Digger, but I'm rather confused about what your asking.

You only hear it during rendering if you're rendering in realtime with "Online Render". Also the rendered audio should sound the same as you hear it when you play it back in Reaper, if it doesn't then you probably have a routing problem.

So I assume you're confused about levels while mixing and I also assume you mean the volume controls on the items when you say "pull down the segments"?

The goal while mixing is to get the levels of all the audio tracks just right so that when you play the whole song back, you're close to (or hitting) your maximum target level.

Your "maximum target" level is something you determine and is another subject, but there's a lot of information and discussion about it on the net.

The important thing is to get the levels of each track setup to where it needs to be. There are many ways you can do that, one is by adjusting the volume levels of the items, another is using a "Take Volume Envelope". Also each track has it's own volume envelope along with many other envelopes. You can use any one, or all of these controls to get the volumes set up to where they should be.

I'm sorry if I can't totally answer your question, but if my understanding of what you're asking is correct, it's a huge subject and needs to be broken down into steps.
