Remote Desktop type thing for REAPER
I want to use the xair18 to livestream some live shows same way I usually do with my in studio setup. In order to do this for the outside shows, my laptop is getting all the feeds from the x air 18 for broadcast and I’m mixing inside reaper. But it’s too loud out there even with headphones. So really I want to send the audio down some cables and mix from inside my control room which means remotely controlling that computer from my control room computer.
I need more than WRB or reaper WWW will provide.
Should I be using team viewer or is there something more sensible? The computers will be connected thru Ethernet so it needn’t be internet based.

What's the distance?
Ethernet: up to 75m
Optical: up to 15m
USB: up to 3m
Of these, only ethernet is easily expandable, as you probably have an ethernet switch laying around.
I've run a "remote desktop" solution for years, until a decade ago. BUT I always recorded audio on the local Mac, so the audio didn't have to travel over ethernet.
Currently, I use a pair of Appsys.ch boxes to transport the audio from 4 ADAT boxes (32/32) over UTP to an RME Digiface USB. Of course, this is a fringe solution. I think the boxes are no longer made, fi. Also, it's not ethernet, it just uses UTP as a cheap medium for distances up to 75m. And there's no remote gain control.
Have you tried RDPing in from a second computer?
Especially if there is already a network in the building, this seems the simplest solution.

The audio isn't going to travel over ethernet or anything else, the audio will be travelling down an analog line. I just need to figure which software to control the other PC with

RDP is built-in in Windows. I don't know if it works for you, controlling Reaper over RDP. If all you need to do is minor change, it should work. There's a slight lag, of course.

Yeah, I have never tried this one yet, only team viewer. Is RDP on all Windows 10 versions? I think one is pro and one is home.

It's not completely gone from the Home edition, just a bit crippled. Here's a How-to for repair:
