Can I delete Reaper and reinstall it if I haven't paid for it (which I most definitely will)? I import a clean media file into Reaper and it has 'bump' sounds in it. I'm just wondering if something is corrupted, ...and if a re-install would help.

Buying a license for raper does not have any technical consequences. It's just a "legal act".

So no need for a new download.

definitely not a problem of not having bought license yet, Reaper does work without any functional limitations even after 60-day grace period,

sure you may try doing clean re-install of Reaper, sounds like you adjusted some settings OR maybe your audio device has corrupted drivers?
